About Bastian Voice Institute
Our mission
To provide the highest quality medical, surgical, and behavioral care and consideration for persons with voice, swallowing, and airway disorders. Our primary concern is patient care, supported by ongoing educational activities and research projects.
Our founding
Robert W. Bastian, M.D., established Bastian Voice Institute in 2003 following a successful twenty-year career in academic medicine first at Washington University in St. Louis and then at Loyola University in Chicago, finishing with the rank of Professor. Dr. Bastian founded BVI, inspired by his vision of a unique, primary-through-tertiary-care specialty practice dedicated to voice, swallowing, and airway disorders in the adult population.
Bastian Voice Institute reflects Dr. Bastian’s triple passions for patient care, teaching, and research. He works alongside carefully chosen co-workers Brent Richardson, M.D., Nathan Waller, M.M. (voice), M.A., CCC-SLP, and Michele Denemark, M.A., CCC-SLP, as well as with a caring and committed staff, all of whom have helped bring BVI into being in keeping with his vision.
