Tonic variant spasmodic dysphonia*

In contrast to [intlink id=”100″ type=”post”]classic variant spasmodic dysphonia[/intlink], this variant produces either a sustained strained-sounding voice ([intlink id=”28″ type=”post”]adductory SD[/intlink]) or a voice that is more or less continuously, rather than intermittently, breathy ([intlink id=”14″ type=”post”]abductory SD[/intlink]). Tonic variant SD goes undiagnosed or misdiagnosed far more frequently than does the [intlink id=”100″ type=”post”]classic variant[/intlink].
