Latency (of voice production)

During vocal capability/limitation [intlink id=”157″ type=”post”]elicitation[/intlink], a patient may seem to pause an inappropriate amount of time before complying with a requested vocal task. May be a sign of introversion/vocal inhibition/embarrassment, but much more often may be an indicator of [intlink id=”373″ type=”post”]nonorganicity[/intlink], especially if it accompanies [intlink id=”264″ type=”post”]la belle indifference[/intlink].
